For Every Little Princess
Every little girl has a dream,
Behind the lovely eyes and cute smiles.
Its not in the licks of ice-cream,
or the how-to-get-candy guiles,
MORE...
But bred by Cinderella and Snow-white,
(the fait accompli promise of fairy-tales)
a secret yearn for the fair knight.
Fair dinkum, for their febrile imagination,
however farcical, not worth the hails.
Why the hating, need an explanation?
(Well) Take this for an example:
Age seven, inspired to take on the world,
a little cutie, so sweet, with love so ample,
(innocently) learning to read, ventures into this wild.
At all not an evil, neither a fault,
little princess harbours the thought:
'Locked up in a small dingy room,
Dark and lonely save for bat wails,
Cold inside and out, barely surviving the gloom,
Sweaty and tired, chatting up death, in the horizon hope hails
A ray of shine piercing through her dark,
Barely visible from the tiny grilled window of her multi-storey high prison,
handsomely dressed in shining armour, her prince charming on horse-back,
come to rescue her, off to the residence of the rising sun.'
To satisfy a heart hungry for life, she seeks her mate,
play-, class-, room-, age-,... whoevers the ultim,
yet inexperienced, naive, void of wit.
Years and frogs fill her closet, she's still without him.
A different approach maybe,
Identify the prison or even the witch,
School, poverty, family - who the black knight be,
friends, ex-s, considered black knights, she's ditch.
Still she wallows in the search,
losing herself more each time.
So do more as such,
princesses needing not a dime,
out to find their worth in unequal halfs.
I, myself, not left out,
in this crazy, sinful world, I (do) need a way out,
who doesn't desire a family, a little prince or -cess?
So GOD I pray, my life and virtue don't let this search mess.
